Human Subjects Research at DMACC

DMACC's IRB oversees research involving human subjects to comply with U.S. federal regulations (Title 21, Part 56 and Title 45, Part 46). Research at DMACC requires prior IRB approval, with specific requirements for student, faculty, and external parties.

What is the IRB?

The IRB is a regulatory body that reviews research proposals, protocols, and methodologies to help safeguard the rights, safety, and well-being of research participants. The IRB promotes compliance with regulations by assessing research risks and benefits and providing approval or recommendations for ethical practices.
