Summer 2025 Auditions

Auditions for:

Two Noble Kinsmen, by William Shakespeare, Adapted by Carl Lindberg

Auditions will be held in the Black Box Theatre in Building 5 on the Ankeny Campus.

  • Monday, May 5, 6-9 p.m.
  • Tuesday, May 6, 6-9 p.m.

Rehearsals for Two Noble Kinsmen, directed by Sarah Kate Bode, are expected to start on Sunday, June 8; tech week begins on July 13, at which time actors and crew can expect more rehearsal meeting dates and times; performances will be July 17 - 27.

Please know that having conflicts does not preclude you from being cast!
Note that casting priority will be given to DMACC students.

Offstage

If you are interested in helping with the production offstage, we have several positions available!

Positions for Two Noble Kinsmen include:

  • Stage Manager
  • Assistant Stage Manager
  • Design Assistants
  • Board Operator
  • Performance Ushers

Sign-up

Auditions will be held on Monday, May 5 & Tuesday, May 6, from 6-9pm.

The first 30-45 minutes of each night we will have a Shakespeare workshop led by Sarah Kate, covering a short intro to the language of Shakespeare and some movement work. This is optional to attend ahead of individual time slots.

Sign up for a time-slot to audition with the form below. Then fill out the Audition Form using the button below. This has important questions about your availability, which we ask that you please thoroughly communicate.

If the audition sign up slots are full, you may come as a walk-up, but understand we will be giving priority to those with a slotted time. We will fit you in as time allows.

Sides

Please come prepared to read from the side selections provided below.

You are welcome to prepare a monologue of your choice as well, though it is not expected. Should you wish to present a monologue, we ask that it be 60 seconds or less, and memorized (ideally).

Locations

For visual assistance with where Building 5 is and where to park, here is a link to the campus map, as well as the Building 5 Student Center.

The Black Box is located on the quad side (East side) of the building. If you enter by the Fountain on the East/Quad side of the building, the Black Box is around the corner to the left, following the tiled floor. If you enter by Trail Point Wellness Center, the Black Box is past Trail Point, past Café X, and across from Subway on the right hand side.
