The Iowa Culinary Institute® at DMACC will soon be featured in "Degree of Flavor" — a new TV docuseries creating by Iowa television host and producer, Nash Roe.
The documentary premieres Sunday, Sept. 27, at 3 p.m. on CW Iowa 23 - KCWI and streaming next day on WeAreIowa+ and Nash Roe TV On Demand.
A senior at Valley High School and nationally-recognized teen entrepenuer, Nash Roe first gained attention through his baking business, Nash's Confections, and appearance on Food Network's Kids Baking Championship (Seasons 11 and 12). In recent years, Roe has expanded his impressive creative and professional pursuits into television production, creating Iowa-focused food and storytelling prorams to spotlight the people and organizations shaping the state's culinary landscape.
Roe first approached DMACC and Chef John Andres, Iowa Culinary Institute Director Chef John Andres in 2025 with a vision for a series that would follow culinary students' educational journeys while showcasing the distinctive experiences that set the program apart.
After Roe's pitch was picked up by a network, he filmed at DMACC's Ankeny Campus in spring and summer 2026.
Through "Degree of Flavor", audiences will get a behind-the-scenes look at how the Iowa Culinary Institute® prepares the next generation of culinary professionals.
