Direct Support Professional Behavioral and Mental Health

Cost: $950 (FREE training, books, and supplies to qualified applicants)
The course is a web-blended class, combining online independent study with four in-person sessions at the DMACC Urban Campus. Students will also complete a 5-hour Community Learning Experience in a behavioral health unit.
The certificate program aims to educate individuals who are new to or currently working in the Behavioral Health/Mental Health field. It benefits both employers and students by standardizing training and facilitating entry into this career pathway. Employers can use this program to enhance the educational experience of future and current employees, ensuring a consistent approach to training.
For students, the program offers the opportunity to increase their knowledge and proficiency in the field. It provides essential information, support, and background as they begin their careers in human services.
Prerequisites
Students must be able to pass a criminal background check and provide immunizations prior to acceptance into class. There is a required informational session.
