-
Review the Credit for Prior Learning Crosswalk (currently under development) to determine if your credential is approved.
-
If eligible, contact the department chair to complete a Credit by Experience Online Application, complete Parts 1 and 2, and select “Pre-Approved External Certification/Licensure".
-
Attach appropriate documentation (e.g., photocopy) to the application along with a $50 non-refundable administrative processing fee and submit all to the appropriate academic dean to initiate the document review.
-
Once approved for review, the academic department and the Dean's designee will review the attached documentation within 10 business days to determine if you have met the criteria for course credit.
-
If credit is to be awarded, the completed form along with the $50 administrative processing fee will be submitted to the Registrar's Office for processing.
-
You will be notified when the process is complete and that you may use the credits as pre-requisites for appropriate higher-level coursework. Registration may override the prior course requirement until the earned credits have been transcribed.
Appeals Process
If the certification or licensure is not approved for Credit by Experience, you will be notified in writing by the program chair within 10 days of the decision.
Once notified, you can appeal the decision to the Vice President, Academic Affairs. You must make the appeal in writing and submit it within 10 business days of the denial.
