DMACC Commencement Ceremonies

Graduating students in the Fall 2025, Spring 2026, and Summer 2026 terms are invited to participate in the annual commencement ceremonies in May 2026. Students who plan to participate in one of the annual commencement ceremonies must indicate their intent on the application for graduation. Participation in commencement ceremonies is free of charge.

Metro Commencement

2026 Metro Commencement

  • Date: Wednesday, May 6, 2026
  • Time: 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
  • Location: Casey's Center, 233 Center Street, Des Moines, Iowa
  • Metro Graduates: Ankeny Campus, Newton Campus, Urban Campus, West Campus, and Online graduates
  • Important Information: Due to safety/security protocols at the Casey's Center, graduates are required to remain on the floor of the arena for the entire ceremony.
  • Regalia: Caps and Gowns will be distributed to graduates immediately before the ceremony at the EMC Expo Center in Des Moines.
  • Guests: There is no limit on the number of family and friends who can attend the ceremony. No tickets are required, the event is free to attend.
  • More Metro Commencement details will be posted in February 2026.
  • Policy change: Beginning with the May 2027 commencement ceremonies, one-course certificate graduates are no longer eligible to participate.

Boone Campus Commencement

  • Date: Friday, May 8, 2026
  • Time: 10:00 a.m.
  • Location: DMACC Boone Campus Gymnasium, 1125 Hancock Dr, Boone, IA

Congratulations on your upcoming graduation from Des Moines Area Community College! We are pleased that you have decided to participate in the commencement ceremony and share your accomplishment with your family and friends.
