Breaking News
- As of October 1st the Federal Government ceased operations in many key offices and departments. Despite
a significant reduction of Department of Education staff, federal financial aid programs
qualify for continued use even through an extended federal government shutdown. Also,
families can still access the FAFSA application and student loan forms for additional
aid resources if needed.
- 2025-2026 Federal aid payments (Pell Grant, Work-Study, Loans, etc.) are NOT interrupted. Funding for federal financial aid programs was previously approved and is not impacted by current budget issues causing the shutdown. Payments will continue as scheduled to eligible students.
- FAFSA and student loan applications. The FAFSA application is open. However, due to staffing cuts there could be delays to helpdesk services.
- State, institutional and private awards. State, DMACC Foundation, and private financial aid resources will operate without interruption.
- GI Bill Benefits. Benefits will be paid to eligible students. But Veteran helpdesk and service offices
are closed. The DMACC Veterans Center is open.
