Excel Beginning Tips and Tricks

If you are new to Excel or have been using Excel for years, this class is worth your time. Create spreadsheets using shortcuts to enter text, modify text and navigate Excel. Sort data, Freeze Panes, use the Format Painter and AutoFill and more!

Excel Intro to Formulas

Do you have a need to create calculations in a spreadsheet but just don't know where to start? Have you struggled creating basic formulas yourself? If so, this class is for you!

Create formulas in Excel. Start with basic formulas and functions such as SUM, AVERAGE, MAX, MIN. Create Relative reference formulas and Absolute reference formulas. Create formulas that refer to data on other sheets and create links to data in other Workbooks. Learn shortcuts to set up a formula that automatically includes new worksheets.

Excel Database and Pivot Tables

Date: Tuesday March 25, 2025

Learn the powerful aspects of working with a database in Excel by using the Tables and PivotTables features. Use the Tables feature to quickly organize data and the Pivot Tables feature to look at your data as the “big picture”.  Using Excel as a list or database allows you to easily summarize the data. Clean up the data in your list, Sort, Filter, Subtotal the list. Turn a list into an Excel Table and create a PivotTable to easily analyze your data.

Excel Popular Formulas

Date: Tuesday April 8, 2025

Use functions in Excel to Change the Case, calculate dates and time, create conditional functions to find the sum, count, or average of a range of cells if the cells meet your desired criteria using IF, COUNTIF, SUMIF, COUNTIFS, SUMIFS, DSUM. Retrieve a piece of data from a Table using VLOOKUP and MATCH.

Excel Charts, Filters, and Conditional Formatting

Date: Tuesday April 22, 2025

This class covers the visual part of Excel. Use Excel to create Charts and Graphs. Also use the Conditional Formatting feature in Excel to add a fill color to cells that meet your criteria, show the 3 highest numbers, add Data Bars to each cell to compare the numbers, add a Color Scale or Icon Set to show how the numbers relate to each other in a spreadsheet.

This class will give you the skills to easily analyze data and identify patterns and trends.
