DMACC Veterans Services

How to Reach Us

The DMACC Veterans Services Office has been in continuous communication with the State Approving Agency and Veterans Affairs representatives regarding COVID-19.  As more details are provided by the Department of Veterans Affairs we will update the information provided here as well as reach out to any students who may be affected.

At this time, the VA is making no changes to how VA education benefits are being administered.  School Certifying Officials have been instructed not to make any adjustments to enrollment certifications for changes of mode of delivery (going all online) in response to COVID-19.  While there are current VA policies, guidelines and procedures that outline how VA education benefits are to be paid, Congress is currently working on legislation that, if enacted, will alleviate the impact to recipients for a switch to pursuit solely through distance learning.

As our DMACC community transitions to an online format, please continue to email Don Enright, Dlenright2@dmacc.edu. or call 515-964-6278 if you have questions.

Welcome to DMACC Veterans Services website

We are dedicated to assisting you in achieving your educational goals and working with you to receive the veterans benefits you have earned.  We greatly appreciate the sacrifice you have made for this country and our goal is to help you maximize your veterans benefits and obtain the degree or certificate you seek.

Veterans' Education Benefits

If you have served in the military, or are the spouse or dependent of a veteran, you may be eligible for veterans' education benefits. Because the cost of attending DMACC is relatively low, veterans' education benefits can often cover the cost of tuition with funds remaining to assist with the cost of books, fees, supplies, housing expenses, gas money, etc.

This website is designed to give you an overview of most of the veterans' education benefits. It is not a comprehensive listing of all possible veterans benefits you may be eligible for. For detailed information about specific education benefits and the many educational options at DMACC, contact the Veterans Services Office.

Shawn H. Young

Graphic Design
After spending the last 20 years in the Navy, I chose to re-enter school and find a new profession in Graphic Design. The DMACC staff understands that students learn and develop in different ways while maybe also dealing with past issues. Their support helped get me through the tough times, and I will be forever thankful to DMACC for having the program and people that gave me a new path in life.
