Moving Students FORWARD.
TRIO/Student Support Services is a federally funded program designed to provide academic support, cultural activities, and personal development programming to 220 students at Des Moines Area Community College's Urban Campus. Services provided to program participants are based on the Plan of Operation described in the federal grant proposal and approved by the U.S. Department of Education.
The directive of the TRIO/Student Support Services program is to provide underrepresented student populations with the added support mechanisms needed to meet the challenges of higher education. Through the development of academic and personal skills, the program focuses on deepening critical thinking competencies, increasing student persistence and performance, and promoting degree completion and transfer.
Persistence, Performance. Completion. Transfer. With students always at the center of our work, everything we do strives for these goals. We coach and support students to success.
All services and activities are provided free of charge to participants.
