Guest & Parent Orientation Information

Guests and Parents can play a large role in supporting their children, families, and loved ones while they are in college.

DMACC offers many resources, such as our Student Handbook, departmental websites, and campus visits to help both guests and their students learn more about the college and have a successful transition into the college.

Orientations vary by campus and program and so do offerings for guests and parents. In general, the bulk of the orientation information will be provided to the student. Some campuses and programs offer supplemental guest presentations. If a given campus or event is able to accommodate guests or parents, that guest sign-up option will be available during the reservation process. To protect student privacy and due to space limits, guests are not allowed in the program advising and registration rooms at orientation.

Ankeny Campus: A supplemental guest presentation is offered for students in the Liberal Arts program and at some of the other mandatory on-campus events. Presentations are typically not offered at optional on-campus events. Details based on your student’s program can be obtained by contacting the orientation department at

Urban Campus and Southridge Center: Due to space limits, Urban and Southridge are unable to accommodate guests.
For information about guest attendance at other campuses, please consult with your local campus.

Our Student Orientation Guide [PDF] provides information about DMACC and our campus locations. Please feel free to download and review the guide.
