Crime Scene Investigation Certificate

The CSI certificate program provides a program of study for students to concentrate in the areas of crime scene investigation as it applies to forensic documentation, evidence collection & analysis, and procedural reporting and testimony. This certificate is best suited for people who have a background or interest in criminal justice, fire science or other related public safety disciplines. 

The CSI certificate prepares you for these positions:

  • Law Enforcement Officer/Agent
  • Detective or Investigator
  • Crime Scene Investigator
  • Medicolegal Death Investigator
  • Criminalist/Crime Lab Technician
  • Loss Prevention
  • Insurance/Fraud Investigator
  • Private Investigator
  • Security officer

​Employment in the criminal justice field is highly dependent upon one's character and background. Students who have a criminal history may complete the program of study, but it is NOT likely that they will find employment in the criminal justice field, and students with a criminal history may NOT be eligible for an internship, which is required for the AAS degree.
