Free and Fun Hands-On Environment is for “Makers” of All Ages
A new “Makerspace” at the Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) West Des Moines Campus will be unveiled in a Grand Opening to be held from3 to 6 p.m., Wednesday, June 13 at the West Campus at 5959 Grand Ave. in West Des Moines.
The Makerspace is a free and open environment for creators and “makers” ofall ages to come together, brainstorm their ideas and designs, and give those ideas form and function. Some examples of what creators can experiment with include electronics, robotics, digital communications, 3D printing, and much more.
“The DMACC West Des Moines Campus is all about innovation and this new Makerspace is an extension of creating and inventing,” said DMACC West Campus Provost Dr. Anthony Paustian. “Our Makerspace is a fun, hands-on creative space where anyone interesting in tinkering, building, creating, innovating, and inventing can grow their ideas.”
