des Mardi is the largest fundraising event for the Evelyn K. Davis’ annual Summer Youth Experience Program. The 10 week experience provides local youth with professional skill building and employment experience. Participants leave the program having earned income, have the opportunity to earn a National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC) and are empowered with experience they can use in education and future employment.
Employers gain experience working with young people, establish a pipeline for future employees, have the ability to better diversify their workforce and benefit from efforts to improve Greater Des Moines.
