Food Network Star Chef Penny Davidi to Host a "Cook Off" at DMACC's Iowa Culinary Institute™

Famous TV Chef will also share some of her culinary wisdom with DMACC students.

WHO: TV Chef and entrepreneur Penny Davidi is coming to DMACC's Iowa Culinary Institute™ as part of her national tour called the Chef Penny Cooking Challenge.

Chef Penny purchased the successful Pizza Rustica franchise a​nd opened it in Beverly Hills, later expanding it to other areas in Los Angeles. She is the co-founder of SpiceLab LLC., a Food and Beverage Incubator in Los Angeles, has served as a Culinary Specialist at US Foods and is currently a Culinary Sales Consultant at Sysco Foods.

Chef Penny has also brought her culinary skills to TV and through social media. Called, “one of the Food Network's most feared competitors," she's appeared on Kitchen Inferno and Chopped All Stars, among other shows. In addition, Chef Penny is preparing for Season 7 of the Food Network Star.

Prep and cook from 1-6 p.m.

Dinner and Chopped Challenge from 6:30-9 p.m.

(The Chef Penny Cook Off is by invitation only. However members of the media are invited to attend this event at any time.)

WHAT: The Chef Penny Cook Off entitled “Can you handle the heat in my kitchen," will pit up to six cooking teams, including DMACC students, against one another using mystery items of the famous Chef's pantry. Chef Penny will select the winning team who will then receive one of Chef's Penny's personalized aprons.

W​HY: This is part of Chef Penny's national tour to highlight the fun of creative cooking, competition and culinary results as well as promoting culinary schools. Chef Penny has completed 30 Cook Offs across the nation over the past three years.
