In the last five years, the Carroll Campus has had the largest growth of all DMACC campuses at nearly 20 percent. In the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, we anticipate the need for easily accessible college course and career training will increase significantly. In order to provide the best instruction to our students, an expansion of the Carroll Campus is necessary.
The current campus lacks the space required for specialized offerings like the fast-growing Welding program and the expanding Applied Engineering/Industrial-Maintenance Tech program.
These space restraints have a cascading impact on our community. In order to meet the rapidly growing needs of our area employers—who have been tremendous partners in ensuring our graduates have immediate access to a ripe job market— Carroll Campus needs to double its current number of graduates.
While we have worked to meet demand by utilizing a rental facility since 2001, the time has come to bring all of our students onto a single campus. This vision will allow us to better serve our students while building a more robust campus community.
Among the benefits of an enhanced and expanded Carroll Campus is increasing opportunities for education outside the classroom through learning and engagement opportunities including hosting speakers from around the world, allowing for exhibitions from members of the community, and more.
These factors combined, make it clear that the time has come to launch this essential expansion.
