Walk with DMACC

Over the last seven years, hundreds of thousands of Iowans have taken part in the annual Healthiest State Walk – including DMACC students, faculty, and staff – and we invite you to take part in this event, once again! On October 4th at 12 PM, the following DMACC Campus locations will participate in this statewide effort. This year the Healthiest State Initiative is encouraging participants to walk 30 minutes. Wednesday Scholarship Workshop: The Goldwater Foundation Scholarship

Tonic Sōl Fa at DMACC

Tonic Sōl Fa at DMACC

On Saturday, October 28, the DMACC Ankeny Campus will host the outstanding male a cappella vocal group, Tonic Sōl Fa. Members of Tonic Sōl Fa will teach a master class for students from West Des Moines’ Valley Southwoods from 5:30 – 6:30 p. m. Persons interested in a cappella vocal music may observe the master class for free; however, no one will be admitted after the class starts and those who attend are expected to stay for all of it.

After the master class, Tonic Sōl Fa will present a concert at 7:30 pm in the Ankeny Campus Auditorium in Building 6, with a guest performance by the Valley Southwoods singers. Tickets for the Tonic Sōl Fa concert may be purchased at www.dmacc.edu/music through Friday, October 13. Admission is $15; all seating is general admission. Tickets purchased online will be mailed to purchasers. After October 13, remaining tickets will be available only as first-come-first-serve on the night of the concert. Seating is limited to 320, so purchase tickets early.

Tonic Sōl Fa CDs, videos, and shirts will be available for purchase the evening of the concert. Following the concert the audience can meet and chat with Tonic Sōl Fa and have merchandise autographed during a free reception in the atrium of Building 7 (adjacent to Building 6).
