Stages of Reopening

​DMACC Come Back Strong Committee and Executive Council have developed a timeline for face to face activity to occur at Campuses and Centers. The stages of on-Campus activity are outlined below. During each of these stages some work may continue remotely for assigned employees. This schedule may change as local, state, or national guidance dictates. Changes will be communicated from the Executive Committee to employees directly or through supervisors.

 

Stage of On-Campus Activity – Corresponding Time Period  

Online/Remote/Essential – March 13-May 18 2020

  • Only essential personnel on Campus
  • No Public Access to Campus

Online/Remote/Essential + Maintenance - May 18-May 29 2020

  • Academics: NO LAB or CTE on Campus except for spring carry over that has been approved due to students' need to be completed.  Approval by Executive Committee.  
  • Administrative and Staff: Essential personnel + Maintenance Services
  • No Public Access to Campus

Online/Remote/Essential + Maintenance + Spring Course Completion Personnel-June 1-June 30, 2020

  • Academics: CTE/Lab course completion conducted on Campus with approval by VPAA
  • Administrative and Staff: Limited Administrative Support Services/Continue with Essential + Maintenance Services  
  • Room rentals as approved and as can be supported
  • Trail Point open to Members (beginning June 15)
  • No Public Access to Campus

Online/Remote/Essential + Maintenance + Approved CTE & Lab Personnel Summer Term V - July 1-August 18, 2020

  • Academics: CTE/Lab Face to Face Course Instruction with approval by VPAA
  • Administrative and Staff: Options for the Safe Expansion of Administrative Support Services/Continue with Essential + Maintenance Services   
  • Notice of return to Campus will be given two weeks prior to return date
  • Room rentals as approved and as can be supported
  • Trail Point open to Members 
  • No Public Access to Campus

Online/Remote/Essential + Maintenance + Approved CTE & Lab Personnel + Managed Administrative Support Services Fall 2020 - Spring 2021

  • Academics: Online, virtual, and hybrid instruction maximized, CTE/Lab Face to Face Instruction with approval by VPAA  
  • Administrative and Staff: Supervisors determine employee schedules to meet organizational needs yet provide for safe work environment.
  • Notice of return to Campus will be given two weeks prior to return date
  • Room rentals as approved and as can be supported
  • Public Access to Campus By Appointment

 ANNOUNCEMENT FOR FALL 2021:  DMACC Administrators are planning to start a “new normal” in college operations when fall classes resume on Aug. 25. While most face-to-face classes are scheduled to return this fall, the College plans to take additional proactive steps that represent the “new normal” to keep students, faculty and staff safe​.​ Face masks will still be required until further notice. Plans to return to fully in-person operations could change depending on the state of the pandemic over the summer and into the fall.​ ​​
